St. Clair College Basketball Split with Niagara on Alumni Day

(Windsor, Ontario) – The Saints Women's Basketball team finished their home regular season schedule with a 66-48 win over Niagara College Saturday evening at the SportsPlex. In control from the start, the Saints never trailed the entire contest and were comfortably ahead 42-18 by halftime. By late in the 3rd quarter St. Clair was up by as much as 33 points and were able to empty their bench in the 4th quarter allowing all eleven players dressed to tally points on the score sheet.

2nd year guard Rachel Duic (Belle River, ON/St. Anne) led the Saints scoring 12 points adding 3 steals. 2nd year forwards Nicole Tamm (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) and Torrie Handsor (Wallaceburg, ON) each scored 10 points for St. Clair. Tamm added 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to help fill the stat line for the Saints.

The Men's Basketball team dropped their final home game of the regular season to Niagara College by a score of 83-74 Saturday night at the SportsPlex. After falling behind early, St. Clair was able to finish the first quarter well with a last second lay-up to go ahead 18-16 heading to the 2nd quarter. The Saints then held Niagara to just 10 points before halftime to lead 37-26 at the break. Starting the 2nd half St. Clair took their largest lead at 45-32 but the tide soon turned with Niagara employing full-court pressure.

Rookie guard Trevon Mollison (Brampton, ON) had a game high 20 point for St. Clair and an outstanding 11 rebounds for the double-double adding 5 steals. 3rd year transfer guard Jermaine Lynch (Windsor, ON/JL Forster) scored 14 points for the Saints with Weng James (Windsor, ON/Catholic Central) and Charles Baskin (Detroit, MI) each also reaching double figures scoring 12 points apiece.
