(Windsor, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team (9-1) were finally defeated by an OCAA opponent dropping the opener of their doubleheader 5-3 Thursday night against Fanshawe College (7-5) at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh.

Despite outhitting Fanshawe 9-6 in the game, the Saints made some critical fielding errors that allowed the visitors to capitalize. St. Clair held a 3-1 advantage entering the 7th inning but could not hold the lead and were within a single out of closing out a 3-2 win. However, with two Fanshawe runners on base a deep ball to left field resulted in the final 3 runs of the game after 2 St. Clair errors on the play. The Saints put the tying runs on base in the bottom of the 7th inning but could not come up with the key hit.

The Saints had previously won 41 consecutive OCAA contests in league and playoff action dating back to Sep. 20, 2014. That span included 3 regular season pennants and 3 OCAA Championships along with a pair of OUA/OCAA Championships.
