(Windsor, Ontario) – Third year guard Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph's) has been steadily climbing the scoring chart for the Women's Basketball team at St. Clair College and with a few more points will become the Saints all-time leader.

Kennedy, who graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at St. Clair last spring is currently studying in the Educational Support program, needs just 14 more points to pass Sara Levesque's total of 1,226. Levesque played four seasons from 2007-2011 and averaged 13.3 points per contest and amassed the record in 92 games. Kennedy is looking to better the mark in fewer games and is averaging 14.4 points per contest while sitting at just 84 games played.

Last season Kennedy was named the St. Clair Team MVP while leading the Province in scoring. For her efforts she was recognized as a West Region 1st Team All-Star, OCAA Player of the Year and a CCAA All-Canadian Selection. She owns the school record for 3-pointers with 7 makes in a game which she has done on two occasions. In her rookie season (2013-14) she helped the team to an OCAA Provincial Bronze Medal after being named Rookie of the Year and a West Region 1st Team All-Star.

Kennedy will see if she can eclipse the 1,226 mark on Friday when the Saints host Lambton College at the SportsPlex with tip time at 6:00pm.

Good luck Shannon!!
