Tuesday Tip: Dealing With Dry, Static Hair
Windsor, ON - Cold weather means dry, static hair. St. Clair College Hairstyling Faculty Michele Berry says household heat, dry air and overuse of alcohol-based products contribute to these pesky problems.

The fix?

"A light spray leave-in conditioner will help control the dryness and add moisture to the hair," says Berry. "This needs to be light, so as not to weigh down the hair."

After washing and towel-drying your hair, it is recommended to mist hair with an even coat of leave-in conditioner. This will help seal and lock in moisture in your hair before you dry it.

As for static, Berry says always remember to use conditioner after shampooing.

"Aerosol hairspray will help control static as well," says Berry. A light spritz of hairspray will help your static strands adhere to other strands and hold your hair down.
