St. Clair's Shannon Kennedy Named OCAA Player of the Year
Windsor, ON - St. Clair College student Shannon Kennedy has been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Player of the Year.

The top honour was awarded to the second-year Saints basketball guard during the OCAA Women's Basketball Championship Banquet, which was hosted in Toronto on March 5.

Kennedy, who graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Windsor before attending St. Clair, was also named the West Region Scoring Champion, 1st Team All-Star selection and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association All-Canadian selection.

This past season, she led the province in total points scored and averaged 19.3 points per contest, while making 43.1 per cent from beyond the 3-point arc. She also ranked in the top 10 in the OCAA with 8.1 rebounds per game, while contributing defensively with 2.7 steals per game.

Kennedy is the fifth women's basketball player in St. Clair history to achieve all-Canadian status.
