Arrival Information for New International Students - FALL 2017

Congratulations on your acceptance to the St. Clair College! To make your arrival as easy as possible, we have set up a number of welcoming services for new international students. To ensure that your first few days as a St. Clair College Saint is as simple as possible, please follow the steps below:

STEP 1: Determine how you will arrive in Windsor and Chatham-Kent:

There are a number of different options to arrive in Windsor or Chatham.

From Toronto Pearson Airport: Air Canada provides connecting flights to Windsor International Airport. You may also take the Robert Q Airbus from Toronto-Pearson to Windsor and Chatham. Please be aware that it takes approximately 4-5 hours to drive from Toronto to Windsor/Chatham-Kent.

From Downtown Toronto: Regular bus and train service from downtown Toronto is provided by Greyhound Bus Lines and ViaRail. Please be aware that it takes approximately 4-5 hours to get to Windsor/Chatham-Kent from Toronto.

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport: Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, known by locals as Toronto Island Airport, is located in downtown Toronto. Porter Airlines provides daily service from Toronto to Windsor. Note that this option is not advised unless you will be staying in downtown Toronto prior to your arrival in Windsor or Chatham-Kent.

Other Ports of Entry: Other major ports of entry in Canada include Vancouver and Montreal. Major Airlines in Canada include Air Canada, Westjet, and Porter Airlines. Please check the flight schedules to find the most convenient option for you to connect to Windsor.

STEP 2: Complete our Notice of Arrival form and return by email:

  1. Fill out the Notice of Arrival form
  2. Email it to international@stclaircollege.ca

STEP 3: Find initial accommodation in Windsor:

If you have filled out the Notice of Arrival form you are entitled to your first three (3) nights FREE at a local hotel in Windsor or Chatham-Kent*. Any additional nights of accommodation must be paid at your own expense. (If the hotel is booked for any of the nights you require, please email international@stclaircollege.ca for alternate options)

*Please note the College will charge a student who transfers from St. Clair prior to the completion of their first semester of study for the three (3) night stay.

  • Rooms are double occupancy and will be assigned by the staff of the hotel.
  • You may request a single room and pay an additional charge.
  • You may extend your stay with the hotel at the St. Clair College negotiated rate.

STEP 5: Register with the International Education Office:

Once you have arrived in Windsor or Chatham-Kent please visit one of our campuses and check in with the International Department. You will need to bring your passport and study permit.

Office hours are:

Main Campus: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
St. Clair Centre for the Arts: Monday- Friday 9am-4pm
Chatham Campus: Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
