An Introduction to MIG - 12 hours
This seminar is geared to those who are new to MIG welding and for those who lack formal training in MIG. Maximum # of trainees: 8. Topics include:
- Operations & set up of the MIG machine
- Theory of MIG
- Intro to Welding materials
- Mild steel – welding
- Gasses & Quality Tacs
Tuition fee: $614.53 ($543.83 tuition + $70.70 HST).
Note: Trainees must supply their own welding helmet & gloves.

MIG WELDING 200 (MGAW)

Operations, Quality & Troubleshooting - 12 Hours
Save money and time when employees complete this seminar. Trainees will learn techniques to reduce or eliminate splatter, visually inspect welds for quality and/or faults, and troubleshoot weld quality and machine operation and maintenance. Topics include:
- Weld quality & Visual weld inspection
- Machine maintenance & troubleshooting
- Spool operations (selecting proper wire, pulling the spool, changing the wire).
- Metal properties
- Flat position welding

MIG WELDING 300 (MGAW)

All Position MIG 12 Hours
This seminar concentrates on all position welds in MIG. Trainees will learn the proper technique to create quality welds in flat, overhead, vertical and horizontal positions. Trainees will also concentrate on the theory of penetration techniques in these positions. Note: trainees must supply their own welding helmet & gloves. Tuition fee: $614.53 ($543.83 tuition + $70.70 HST).

MIG WELDING 400 - CWB PREP 12Hrs

This course concentrates on preparing trainees to test for all positions for CWB MIG certification. Trainees will complete 12 practice plates, perform visual inspection and bending tests. Note: does not include CWB testing.
Tuition fee: $750.13 ($543.83 tuition + $120 materials $86.30 HST)

CWB STICK CERTIFICATION PREP - ALL POSITION

St. Clair College is responding to the needs of our local community in resurrecting concentrated practical training in welding to prepare trainees to pass the CWB testing requirements (Note: CWB testing not included in this prep program). This program is 32 hours in length and will concentrate on all four welding positions: 1G, 2G, 3G & 4G. Our certified welding supervisor will evaluate each trainee's ability and coach each trainee in creating quality weldments worthy of CWB certification. Upon completion - trainees will be recommended for CWB certification testing (note: not included in this program), OR will be recommended for further practice on specific identified skills.
Training designed to Trainees must bring their own welding helmet. (Note: one will be provided for those without) (Note: trainees must wear dark, long-sleeved sweat-shirts with a dark colored turtleneck shirts underneath. Trainees must also wear: Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses. Tuition Fee: $1,252.50 (includes all consumables, simulated testing coupons (4 per class) technician time and machine shop services for grinding & cutting of coupons and bend testing.
