THE MASTER'S CERTIFICATE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT (MCPM)

Only 1 evening per week plus a minimum of 1 Saturday per month.

The Atocrates' Centre for Project Sciences is the principle architect and producer of Canada's number one Master's Certificate curriculum in Project Management offered through leading colleges and universities from coast-to-coast. One of Atocrates' flagship programs is its unique McLaughlin Master's Certificate in Project Management.

This certificate program is composed of six modules representing 148 classroom hours, with a substantial team and homework commitment. Each session must be taken in sequence and contains a mandatory exam. Note: Trainees will be required to communicate with team members via e-mail and create documents in word processing and spreadsheets. Knowledge of computer operations is essential.

To be awarded this prestigious Master's Certificate, you must earn it by achieving a passing grade of 65% on all sessions as well as a minimum of 65% on the MCPM Final Exam at the end of session #6.



MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT BODY OF KNOWLEDGE

In this first learning session you will develop a project plan and schedule based on an actual group project utilizing the nine knowledge areas of project management:

MODULE 2: PROJECT ECONOMICS AND POLITICS

Pitch your next project with confidence that all your bases are covered. This session delivers the critical factors in selecting the right project. Various project selection models are discussed and compared to corporate objectives. Political implications of a project within an organization are examined and discussed. Participants will explore numeric and non-numeric project models for selection based on the political culture within their organizations and to convince groups that their projects are worthy of support. Total Training Fee: $1,100. Course 32 hours, 2 units of credit.

MODULE 3: PROJECT LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT

Leadership is a changing dimension in the role of today's Project Manager. This session focuses on a managerial approach to project management. Leadership trends are explored that address potential problems and effective decision making. Participants will learn to embrace conflict and use successful negotiation tools to diffuse it. Leadership models are studied and applied in a hands-on group project designed to challenge and enhance project leadership abilities. Total Training Fee: $1,100. Course 32 hours, 2 units of credit.

MODULE 4: PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE & RESPONSIBILITY

We must be ever alert to signs of conflict of interest. Individuals, companies and professional societies can easily find themselves embroiled in expensive legal battles that tarnish the reputation of the profession as a whole. This session focuses on personal and professional integrity. Participants will develop personal responses to discuss and debate case studies covering topics such as: Conflict of Interest, Accepting Gifts and Amenities, Balancing stakeholder's interest and Respecting the Difference in Diverse Cultures. Total training fee: $1,100. Course 24 hours, 2 units of credit.

MODULE 5: EFFECTIVE PROJECT PLANNING AND CONTROL

Given a Request for Proposal (RFP), groups of participants will compete to win a contract for a new prototype adhering to specified timelines, budget, scope & specifications, evaluation and project life cycle with mandatory phases. An in-depth analysis of resource planning, cost estimating, cost scheduling, corrective action and performance reporting are studied in this session. Total training fee: $1,100. Course 24 hours, 2 units of credit.

MODULE 6: PROGRAM REVIEW & FINAL EXAM

This session focuses on The McLaughlin Master's Program Review. The McLaughlin Master's Final Exam will also be issued after an extensive program review. Note: a passing grade of 65% is required for every session and a minimum of 65% on the Final is required to earn the McLaughlin Master's Certificate in Project Management. Graduation ceremony will follow in the afternoon of the final day. Total training fee: $500. Save $100 on individual tuition fees by registering for the entire program! Course 12 hours.

This intensive 3 Day exam preparation workshop will provide a roadmap for how to pass the Project Management Institute's (PMI®'s) Project Management Professional (PMP®) examination. The workshop is kept up to date with the framework of knowledge outlined by PMI®'s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). Atocrates' instructors will share test-taking tips and study strategies, and they will review critical materials that will directly assist you in passing the PMP® exam. PMP® CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for PMI's PMP® certification must have:
  • At least 35 hours of project management classroom and/or eLearning experience.
  • In addition, a Bachelor's degree (or global equivalent),
  • 4,500 hours of project management experience over three years/36 months.
  • If no degree, 7,500 hours of project management experience over five years/60 months are required.
  • Candidates must pass the four-hour computer-based 200-question exam and should submit the PMP® application directly to PMI®.
  • Exam fees must also be paid directly to PMI® before the examination.
