Developed and authorized by the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Association of Canada, the Maintenance Management Professional Certificate Program consists of eight modules. The program is designed for individuals aspiring to management positions, those already in maintenance management and looking for formal training, as well as for individuals seeking full maintenance designation (MMP, Maintenance Management Professional) or focused training in selected areas.
The MMP certificate program is comprised of the following eight modules. While not mandatory, it is recommended that the modules be taken and completed in sequence.
- Module 1 - Maintenance Management Skills &Techniques
- Module 2 - Production and Operations Management for the Maintenance Manager
- Module 3 - Human Resources Management for the Maintenance Manager
- Module 4 - Financial Management for the Maintenance Manager
- Module 5 - Developing & Implementing Maintenance Tactics
- Module 6 - Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Module 7 - Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- Module 8 - Capstone Course

MODULE 1: MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SKILLS & TECHNIQUES

This module introduces basic concepts and the latest developments in cost effective maintenance management. Course 5 weeks, 15 hrs; Tuition fee: $389.55 ($350.00 tuition + $35 materials + $4.55 HST) plus text.

MODULE 6: MAINTENANCE PLANNING AND SCHEDULING

Planning, scheduling and work coordination form the foundation to maintenance's ability to add value to the goods and/or services of its companies and customers. Effective planning and scheduling ensure that the right things are done at the right time using the right resources and the right tools in an effort to enhance process reliability while minimizing interruptions to production processes and/or services. This module provides a study of the fundamental principles of the planning and scheduling process in addition to the basics of planning, scheduling and work coordination methods. Upon completion of this module, participants will have a sound understanding of planning and scheduling tools and how to apply them to effectively transition from reactive to proactive maintenance and physical asset management. Key learning elements include:
- Effective use of resources
- Aligning maintenance activities with production or service schedules
- Developing and documenting maintenance strategies
- Integrating proactive maintenance tactics.
Recommended Pre-requisites: 1 & 5. Course 10 weeks, 30 hrs; Total Fee: $600.85 (Tuition fee: $550 + $45 materials + $5.85 HST) plus text.
