Celebrating 9 years of Fun!

CAMPUS FOR KIDS programs are designed for youth ages 4+ to foster positive experiences, develop skills, and promote self-worth. Our staff is certified in Standard First Aid and CPR with HIGH FIVE Training in The Principles of Healthy Child Development.

  • All Camps are located at our Main Campus (2000 Talbot Road West, Windsor, Ontario)

  • Drop off/sign in begins at 8am until 8:30am in the College gym and pick up/sign out starts at 4:30pm until 5pm in the College gym (if necessary, earlier drop off and later pick up can be arranged in advance at an additional cost of $5 per morning and $5 per evening.)

  • Recreational swimming included each day so be sure to pack a swimsuit and towel.

  • Special for Summer 2010! - Lunch, drinks and healthy snacks included each day of Camp. We will be offering a kid-friendly, healthy lunch with a new menu that varies each week, drinks and a healthy snack in the afternoon. Our camps are ‘nut sensitive’ and we ask that your child does not bring any type of nuts/nut products to Camp. We will not be using pork/pork products in our lunches and will have a vegetarian option available. Should your child have any special dietary requirement, please let us know in advance to see if we can accommodate. Should we not be able to accommodate the requirement, you will be required to pack a lunch and snacks for your child each day.

Children receive specific instruction in sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and badminton. The focus of this day is skill building and fun through physical activity as well as arts and craft activities. Fun Day camp is designed to encourage learning in a safe and exciting environment.

ACTIVE KIDS

Mini-Adventure (age 4-5)

Kids love the fun and games - parents love the age–appropriate activities that promote healthy child development. Our enthusiastic leaders entertain and engage through music, arts & crafts, building & design, gym time, and cooperative play, delivering an exciting new program each week. (Children must be turning five years old by December 2010.) (Available Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8)

ARTS, BAKING AND CRAFTS

The possibilities for imaginative minds are endless as campers explore their creative instincts when we use a variety of media including painting, pottery and crafts to name just a few activities. Projects will be as individual as the artists themselves! (Available Weeks 1 and 6)

Babysitting Boot Camp (age 11+)

Babysitting is an important job that will help you build skills, gain experience, and make money. Our curriculum has been approved by the Canada Safety Council, and will teach you about caring for and having fun with children, how to keep them safe, and what to do in an emergency. Manual and Certificate included. (Available Weeks 2 and 4)

Cartooning

Get ready to learn the three Cs: Cartooning, Comics and Caricature! Way more fun than the three Rs, come and learn how to make humour with art and illustration. Anything can be caricatured and in this class you will discover the best ways to do just that. When complete, your drawings can stand on their own or become the basis of cartoons, storyboards or comics. (Available Weeks 1 and 5)

Delicious Desserts (age 9+)

Fun is the key ingredient in this delicious camp. We’ll introduce you to basic baking techniques and everyday you’ll learn how to make a new and tasty dessert. How sweet it is! (Available Weeks 3 and 6)

Scrapbooking (age 7+)

Got pictures? How about turning them into colourful and creative photo books that make memories more fun? You’ll be scrapping in no time, using basic techniques and tools. Cost includes supplies.

Our kitchens are stirring with excitement. Are you epicurious about making your own healthy and fun snacks? We will begin with basic food preparation and presentation and then you will be on your way to creating a new scrumptious snack each day! (Available Weeks 2 and 5)

Cookbooks are helpful and the pictures make us drool, but actually creating an enjoyable meal is just so cool! Learn about nutrition and the chemistry of cooking and experience food preparation and presentation. If you are hungry for something different this summer, we’ll help you whip up a major helping of fun! (Available Weeks 4 and 7)

Strings & Things – Crafty Creations (age 7+)

If you love unique creations, this camp is chock full of projects that you can either wear or use. Let your imagination soar as you fashion dazzling necklaces, charming bracelets and stylish lanyards to list just a few possibilities. A different project will be created each day allowing campers to experience a variety of techniques using a range of supplies such as hemp, beads, and lacing. (Available Weeks 3, 5 and 8)

Woodworking 101 (age 9+)

Carve out a cool new hobby for yourself as you learn the basics of woodworking. We’ll introduce you to a number of tools (don’t worry mom, we’re working safe!) and you’ll drill, sand, and paint your way through a creative project. (Available Week 8)

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Check out this riveting program! Build and program a robot with the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotic Invention System. Using LEGO blocks, sensors, motors, and gears, we’ll help you bring technology and engineering principles to life. Cost includes all supplies and instruction. Bill Nye’s got nothing on us! In just days we’ll uncover some of the mysteries of chemistry, physics, geology, astronomy, and biology. Direct from Broadway - here’s your opportunity to be a star and help bring a Disney classic to the stage. You’ll work on everything from costume and set design to acting in the scheduled week’s end performance. (Available Weeks 1, 3 and 5)

Do you have what it takes to be a performer? Find out in this exciting camp. You will name your group, choose a song, choreograph a routine and show off your talents on stage at week’s end.

Applause! Applause! This summer, Campus for Kids acting camp is offering a two-week performance program that will bring audiences to their feet. The curtain will rise on Broadway’s junior version of "Fiddler on the Roof", August 16 – 27. Join us and experience acting, singing and dancing lessons, as well as an opportunity to use your imagination to create costumes and work with an amazing professional set for an exciting theatrical presentation. Call early so you do not miss out as enrolment is limited! Please register before July 15th in order to be scheduled for an audition for key parts.

Stay on top of your game with one of the world's fastest racket sports. We’ll help you develop a range of basic skills, as well as the rules, special techniques, and trick shots that will be used in game play. (Available Week 5)

Play with the pros! College-level players will teach you the techniques of basketball through court drills and game play focusing on shooting, dribbling, defense, offence, rebounding, and passing.

Join us for a smorgasbord of sports including soccer, basketball, floor hockey, badminton, and more. This non-competitive camp will keep you on your toes and introduce you to a variety of favourite indoor and outdoor games and activities. (Available Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8)

Road/Floor Hockey (age 9+)

Hit the streets with the great Canadian pastime! Develop your skills and enjoy both indoor and outdoor play. Fundamentals such as ball handling, shooting, passing, offensive/defensive strategies and goal tending will be covered. Helmets are supplied and must be worn. (Available Weeks 1 and 7)

Soccer (age 9+)
YOUTH 130
Get your kicks playing soccer with athletes from St. Clair’s varsity team. Fundamental skills will be taught through drills and game play. Our #1 goal is making sure you have fun! (Available Weeks 2 and 8)

Sports Ignition (age 9+)

Why choose one when you can have it all? If you’re up for a friendly game of soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, or floor hockey, this camp is for you. Daily routines include stretching, basic rules, positions, and techniques, as well as fair play and sportsmanship. (Available Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8)
