What to do If You Become Ill With Influenza-like Illness Back

If you are at the College and you become ill with a flu-like illness, report to the College Health Centre, put on a mask (provided at the door) and sanitize your hands with sanitizer provided.  

Employees  

If you become ill at home with an influenza-like illness:  

  1. Stay home- do not come to work.

  2. Call your department and report that you have a flu-like illness.

  3. Call your primary care practitioner (doctor or nurse practitioner) for further recommendations for treatment.

  4. You may return to work 24 hours after your fever has subsided with a note from your primary care practitioner stating that you no longer have the symptoms of an acute illness that is communicable.
Teachers
If your students arrive in class and are displaying symptoms of flu-like illness, send them home and have them follow directions below. Report the illness to your departmental secretary.
Students

If you become ill at home with an influenza-like illness:

  3. Call your primary care practitioner (doctor or nurse practitioner) for further recommendations for treatment.

  4. You may return to school 24 hours after your fever has subsided with a note from your primary care practitioner stating that you no longer have the symptoms of an acute illness that is communicable.

  5. Students in residence must report to your RA so that appropriate measures can be taken.
