RC Strokes & Skills 5/6
SWM 318N
A split level, accommodating individuals at least 5 years of age, who need more instruction to be successful in completing items in Red Cross Swim Kids Level 5 or 6. This class offers decreased instructor to student ratios of 1:4 to increase time available to work on improving specific items not yet obtained. Once students have been successful, instructors will continue their progress by working into the next level.
-Swimmers in this combined level develop front and back crawl (15m) and continue to increase their distance (25m). Whip kick on back progresses into learning elementary backstroke (15m). Stride Dives, treading water, head first sculling, dolphin kick and front dives are taught and improved upon. Continuous swims are practiced from 50-75m.

A split level, accommodating individuals at least 5 years of age, who need more instruction to be successful in completing items in Red Cross Swim Kids Level 7 or 8. This class offers decreased instructor to student ratios of 1:4 to increase time available to work on improving specific items not yet obtained. Once students have been successful, instructors will continue their progress by working into the next level.
-Swimmers in this combined level work to increase their front and back crawl distances (50-75m) and elementary back stroke (25m). Whip kick on front progresses into learning breast stroke (15m). Front scull, dolphin kick, eggbeater/treading water, foot first surface dives, standing shallow dives, stride entries and continuous swims 150m – 300m are practiced.

A split level, accommodating individuals at least 5 years of age, who need more instruction to be successful in completing items in Red Cross Swim Kids Level 9 or 10. This class offers decreased instructor to student ratios of 1:4 to increase time available to work on improving specific items not yet obtained. Once students have been successful, instructors will continue their progress by working into the next level.
-Swimmers in this combined level increase their distance on front and back crawl (100m), elementary back stroke (50m) and breast stroke (25m-50m). Side scissor kick is taught and progressed into sidestroke (25m). Headfirst surface dives progress into head & foot first surface dives with underwater swim, dolphin kick (vertical) and continuous swims of 400m – 500m are practiced.
