CHALK PASTELS: AN INTRODUCTION

Whether a novice or a professional, chalk pastels are an exciting way to make vivid, colourful and enduring works of art. Think Michelangelo or da Vinci in their execution of life studies or the compositions of the Impressionists. Used throughout history as studies and finished works of art, the chalk pastel has endurance, retaining its vibrancy through time.
This workshop will strengthen your draughtsmanship as a drawing tool. Engage your imagination with this easy to use medium. The sessions will introduce you to the medium, enhance your understanding of its potential and allow you freedom to explore its diversity. Compact, it is ideal for working in the field, easy to transport, requires little clean up, while offering lots of room for progressive styling and application. Pastels, when used are vibrant and sensual. It is a tactile medium to be experienced. Oh yes, did I forget to mention fun? Instructor: Stephen Arthurs.
